Vietnamās homegrown web browser, Coc Coc, recorded nearly 10 billion website visits in 2024. On average, each user visited 67 websites throughout the year, highlighting the browserās strong presence in the countryās digital landscape.
Traffic analysis showed that social media accounted for 27.4% of total visits, making it the most popular category among users. Video and music streaming followed closely at 23%. Work-related browsing made up 15.4% of the total visits.
News consumption remained significant, with users visiting news websites 2.6 billion times. Coc Cocās News Feed feature, integrated into its new tab page, contributed 335.8 million visits, representing 12.9% of overall traffic.
Search Trends Highlight Consumer Interest in Tech
Search trends in 2024 reflected high consumer interest in smartphones and gadgets. The most searched products included the Samsung S24 Ultra, iPhone 16, Redmi Note 13, iPhone 15, and MacBook Air M3.
Searches for applications and software focused on creative and social platforms. Canva, TikTok, Gemini, CapCut, and Scratch were among the most popular.
Growing Interest in Cybersecurity and Online Regulations
Vietnamese users showed increasing concern about cybersecurity and digital regulations. Searches related to biometric authentication rose by 957% compared to 2023. Interest in Decree No. 147/2024/ND-CP, which governs internet services and cyber information, increased by 35%. Searches related to social media verification grew by 72%.
Online Learning Gains More Attention
Online learning platforms saw growing interest among users. Searches for Scratch increased by 154%, while Vnedu and IOE saw growth rates of 73% and 20%, respectively.
Coc Cocās 2024 performance reflects the evolving digital habits of Vietnamese users, with a strong focus on social media, online security, and digital learning.
