Yandex Market Simplifies Product Cards and Updates Categories

Yandex Market has introduced changes to make content management easier for sellers. The marketplace has removed unnecessary fields from product cards and added more detailed categories. According to a statement from the company, the update will improve search rankings, impressions, and sales for participating sellers.

Easier Product Card Management

With the new update, sellers only need to select a category and provide basic information. Unnecessary fields have been eliminated, streamlining the process. For instance, sellers of washing powders previously encountered irrelevant fields like “Number of Capsules.” Now, this category is divided into more specific sections, such as “Laundry Powders” and “Capsules and Laundry Tablets.”

The simplified card structure also makes it easier for sellers to achieve 100 points for content quality—a key ranking factor on the platform. Better-quality content increases visibility in search results and boosts potential sales.

Gradual Category Updates

Yandex Market plans to roll out these changes in stages. The first updates have already been applied to products in the “Dacha, Garden, and Vegetable Garden” category. Next, the marketplace will update categories for food, pet supplies, household goods, and construction materials.

Sellers will receive advance notifications to review and adjust their categories if needed. Over the next few months, other product categories will undergo similar updates.

Long-Term Partnership with Lamoda

This update follows Yandex Market’s recent announcement of a long-term partnership with Lamoda, a major fashion and lifestyle retailer. The collaboration aims to enhance the marketplace’s offerings and provide more variety for customers.

With these improvements, Yandex Market is making it simpler for sellers to manage listings while optimizing content for better search performance.
